The Bray Knicely Law staff assists the firm’s attorneys and interface with clients and others to accomplish tasks that will help the attorneys advance client objectives.  The members of the Bray Knicely Law staff have extensive practical experience, as well as helpful, personal skills to make the oft-times stressful legal matters easier and more pleasant to endure and navigate. Jackie Coffman

Jackie is a senior legal assistant who assists principally in the real estate and litigation areas. After working for mortgage lenders and a law firm in the Virginia Beach area, Jackie relocated to the Peninsula area and began employment at a predecessor firm, in January of 1997. Jackie brings firm more than 25 years of experience and working knowledge of various areas of real estate, commercial lending and other transactions. She is known for her personable, helpful manner and invariably wins friends among clients during the firm’s representation. Outside the office, Jackie is actively involved in the American Legion, and in serving disabled veterans at the Hampton VA Hospital. Jackie is a long-time member and officer of her church and She spends much of her free time with family and friends, including her three grandchildren.

Zelma Venters

Zelma joined Bray Law PLLC as an executive assistant in April 2021. She brought with her a wealth of experience in various fields. In her 50 years of employment, she’s held such positions as a Food Service and Warehouse Forman with the AAFES, and Salesclerk and Accounting Technician with the Defense Commissary Agency. She retired from Civil Service in 2013 as Administrative Assistant to 633rd Communications Squadron, Langley Air Force Base. Before joining Bray Law, Zelma worked with the Williamsburg Drug Company as a Sales/Postal Clerk.

Zelma is a longtime resident of Williamsburg, where she’s raising her 12 year-old granddaughter whom she says has added 20 years to her life while keeping her active and young.

Peng (Caleb) Liu

Caleb Liu is a part-time legal assistant who assists the Firm primarily with real estate, business and litigation matters. Celeb is admitted to the Bar in China and practiced there before attending the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at William and Mary where he obtained his LLM. degree in 2022. Caleb also serves in management of the Baptist Student Union House at the College of William & Mary and is involved in church and Bible study activities.

Leslie Knicely

Leslie Knicely is the wife of one of the firm members and works on a part-time basis to assist with firm bookkeeping. Ms. Knicely spends the remainder of her time in community service activities, including church and international student outreach, and enjoys reading and creative projects such as knitting and mentoring her grandchildren. Leslie is a graduate of the College of William & Mary and also obtained a degree in physical therapy from the Medical College of Virginia at VCU.

Mark Roose

Mark Roose works part-time in handling client billing and other related tasks and assisting with real estate matters. Mark also fields initial client inquiries and reception. Mark is currently taking a gap year, but is enrolled in an online college course, and has obtained certificates in cybersecurity and licensure in securities transactions. Mark expects to enroll soon in full-time college matriculation.
