William P. Bray
William “Bill” Bray is a native Virginian and a William & Mary law graduate whose practice focuses on residential and commercial real estate, as well as counseling local businesses, and litigation related to such matters.
Bill grew up in Virginia Beach playing baseball and was drafted to the Major Leagues after two outstanding college baseball seasons with the William & Mary Tribe. He was selected by the Montreal Expos as the 13th overall pick in the 2004 Major League Baseball draft.
He made his Major League debut in 2006 as a member of the Washington Nationals and was traded to the Cincinnati Reds later that summer, where he spent six seasons in Cincinnati, pitching in over 250 games.
During his playing career, Bill was actively involved in the Major League Baseball Players Association, serving as an elected team representative for the Reds. He also served on the MLBPA’s player licensing and executive subcommittees.
After retiring from baseball, Bill returned to Williamsburg and completed his undergraduate degree at the College of William & Mary in 2015. He became a double Tribe member in 2018 after earning a J.D. from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law.
It did not take long for him to be recognized as a legal Rising Star starting in 2022 to the present by the well-known website, Superlawyers.com.
In addition to his primary focus on commercial and residential real estate transactions and related litigation, Bill continues in his law practice to serve major baseball organizations.
He is also a member of the Board of Directors for Major League Alumni Marketing. Bill lives in Williamsburg with his wife, Elaine, and their four children.
Since the summer of 2022, he has had the honor of serving as an Elder of Life Pointe Christian Church in Toano and as a baseball coach for his young son.
